| The Town of Guilderland is one of the fastest growing areas
in the Capital District. Guilderland is becoming a hub of shopping with the
primary focus being around the Crossgates Shopping Mall. The cities of Albany,
Schenectady and Troy are easily accessible from Guilderland.
The Guilderland economy is strong due to the recent growth in the town. There is limited manufacturing in Guilderland but the revenues generated from merchants and office facilities keep this growth area strong.

During the Spring and Summer months, residents can enjoy outdoor opera, dance, choral programs and music at the Performing Arts Amphitheatre. The morning Times Union is the most read paper in Guilderland. Many residents of the areas adjacent to Schenectady also subscribe to the Daily Gazette. The Altamont Enterprise is a weekly publication enjoyed by many of the town's residents.
Commuter: Approximately a 20 minute drive to downtown Albany or Schenectady via Route 146, and Route 20, both of which are well maintained year-round.
As Guilderland is quickly growing so are the number of organizations represented and meeting in the town. However, shoppers will be pleased with the selection of shopping they will find at Stuyvesant Plaza Shopping Center and a variety of independent merchants located on Route 20.
